Long-term Goals

    Friends of AMU – Distant Mentorship Program

    AMUAA of Chicago is encouraging all well placed ALIGS to  volunteer and to be part of a distant mentor program. In this initiative, currently enrolled students at the AM are given access to the contact information on potential mentors who have moved ahead in life and may provide a word of encouragement and advise. Coordinator direct the potential students to the "seniors" in academia, industry or other spheres of activities to "learn" by asking critical questions and seeking guidance. Girls Education / Needy Students Education.

    Primary & Secondary education is vital for the progress of any society. To nurture our children to become able architects of tomorrow by being good leaders & statesmen, Doctors & Engineers, Scientists, Lawyers, Teachers, Social Scientists etc we need to get them to schools today. Towards this goal Girls education is of utmost importance.

    Today's girls, our daughters and sisters, are tomorrow's mothers. A mother is the first and the foremost teacher of a child. She is  is entrusted with raising the next generation that will inherit this planet. Education provides some of the critically important tools and techniques that a mother needs to empower herself to do a superb job. Imagine the world in which all mothers are educated.

    We will be Sponsoring worthy projects at Girls Schools/ Education of needy Students in India  through fund raising. An update on the current progress can be found here.

           Dr. Gulam Waris was elected for a 2-year term in 2010 election and will continue to serve until the 2012 election.

           Dr. Haris Jamil was unanimously selected as the Chairman of the Board of Directors.
