  • Dr. Zafeer Ahmad

    Dr. Zafeer Ahmad, an esteemed alumnus of Aligarh Muslim University, India, holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry. With a rich professional background, Dr. Ahmad has made significant contributions to the field of Therapeutic Proteins and Vaccines development as a seasoned consultant.

    Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. Ahmad has dedicated over 35 years to community service, demonstrating his commitment to making a positive impact. He has held various leadership positions at prominent Islamic organizations, including Vice President at the Islamic Center in Indianapolis, Indiana, Secretary and Sunday School Principal at the Islamic Foundation of Greater Valley Forge (ISVGF) in Pennsylvania, and Sunday School Principal, Education Committee Chairman, Board of Trustees member, and Vice Chairman at Islamic Foundation North (FN).

    Additionally, Dr. Ahmad's leadership extends to his involvement with the Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association of Greater Chicago (AMUAAGC), where he has served as President multiple times and as Board of Trustees chairman. His dedication to community service and leadership roles exemplify his commitment to giving back and fostering positive change.

    Throughout his career, Dr. Ahmad has held significant positions at various pharmaceutical companies, including Chief Technical Officer at Therapeutic Proteins International, Senior Vice President of Technical Operations at Goodwin Biotechnology, Vice President of Process Development and Manufacturing at Bradmer Pharmaceuticals, Vice President of Process Development and Manufacturing at NeoPharm, and senior positions at Hoffmann-La Roche and GlaxoSmithKline. His extensive experience and expertise have been instrumental in advancing therapeutic protein and vaccine development, further solidifying his reputation as a leader in the field.

  • Dr. Shakil Khan

    Dr. Shakil A Khan is a distinguished graduate of Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India, holding MPhil and PhD degrees in Biochemistry. With a strong academic foundation, he has garnered extensive experience in prestigious institutions such as Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and the University of Chicago, where he served as a Senior Research Professional.

    Transitioning to academia, Dr. Khan contributed his expertise as a Faculty member at Northwest Suburban College in Rolling Meadows, IL. Currently, he plays a pivotal role in the Diagnostic Division of Abbott, managing its Global Operations.

    In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Khan has been an active member of the Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association of Greater Chicago (AMUAA-GC) since 2007. He has held various leadership positions within the association, including President, Vice President (two terms), and Secretary (two terms). Furthermore, he has served as the Councilor and Secretary of the Federation of Aligarh Alumni Associations.

    Demonstrating his commitment to community engagement, Dr. Khan serves as a Vice President at AMUAAGC and chairs the Social & Cultural committee of AMUAA-GC and holds the position of Vice President at the Muslim Education Center (MEC) Toastmasters club in Morton Grove. Through his multifaceted contributions, Dr. Shakil A Khan continues to make a significant impact within both professional and community spheres.

  • Mrs. Rubina Jamil

    Mrs. Rubina Jamil brings a wealth of experience and dedication to her role as the Secretary of AMUAA-GC. Previously, she served as a member of the Board of Directors for two years, demonstrating her commitment to the organization's mission.

    Residing in Libertyville with her husband, Dr. Haris Jamil, Mrs. Jamil has been an active member of her community for many years. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, she served as a Montessori school teacher, specializing in early childhood education. Additionally, she generously contributed her time and expertise as a volunteer teacher at the Islamic Foundation North (IFN) Sunday school for over 15 years.

    Mrs. Rubina Jamil's dedication extends to her lifelong commitment as a life member of AMUAA-GC, where she continues to make valuable contributions to the organization's endeavors.

    Currently Mrs. Rubina Jamil is serving AMUAAGC as a Secretary.

  • Mr. Ans Ahmed

    Ans Ahmed is a seasoned Senior Accountant residing in Lake Zurich, Illinois, United States. With a wealth of experience, he specializes in Fixed Asset Accounting, meticulously managing and maintaining fixed assets in corporate books. Ans excels in reconciling Construction in Progress (CIP) fixed asset accounts, as well as tracking capital expenses. Moreover, he is adept at preparing, reviewing, and ensuring the accuracy of all balance sheet accounts pertaining to Intangible Assets on a monthly basis.

    Having earned his bachelor's degree from Osmania University, Ans brings a solid educational foundation to his professional endeavors. Currently, he serves as the Treasurer of the Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association of Greater Chicago (AMUAAGC), where he contributes his financial expertise to the organization's mission and objectives.

  • Mr. Jawed Aslam

    Jawed Aslam is a seasoned Financial Services Professional affiliated with WestPoint Financial Group. With a dedication to providing personalized insurance strategies, he assists clients in meeting their diverse financial needs.

    Having graduated from AMU with a Master of Science degree and holding a Diploma in Company Law Bank Insurance, Jawed Aslam possesses a strong educational background that complements his professional expertise.

    Recognized for his excellence in the field, Jawed Aslam is a proud member of the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), reflecting his commitment to delivering top-notch financial services.

    Beyond his professional pursuits, Jawed Aslam finds fulfillment in community engagement and volunteer work. He actively contributes his time and effort to various organizations, enriching the community through his service-oriented approach.

    Currently, Jawed Aslam serves as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors at AMUAAGC, demonstrating his leadership and dedication to advancing the organization's mission and objectives.

  • Dr. Ahmadullah Siddiqi

    Dr. Mohammad Ahmadullah Siddiqi has held esteemed positions throughout his distinguished career. Serving as the Dean of Academic and Student Affairs at Northwest Suburban College in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, he has played a pivotal role in shaping academic programs and student experiences. Additionally, Dr. Siddiqi holds the title of Professor Emeritus of Journalism and Public Relations at Western Illinois University (WIU), where his expertise has greatly influenced the field.

    Dr. Siddiqi's scholarly contributions extend far beyond the classroom. He is the author of numerous books and has published over two dozen articles in esteemed publications. His influence reaches a global scale, as he has conducted media workshops in over 100 cities across North America and more than 35 countries spanning Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.

    Recognized for his dedication to interfaith dialogue and understanding, Dr. Siddiqi was inducted into the Collegium of Interfaith Scholars at Martin Luther King Chapel at Morehouse College, Atlanta, Georgia, in 2014. He is a founding member of the World Council of Muslims for Interfaith Relations (WCMIR) and currently serves as its board member and treasurer. Additionally, Dr. Siddiqi has served as President and Board Chair of AMUAAGC, showcasing his commitment to fostering community and collaboration.

    Dr. Siddiqi's academic journey began with a degree in M.S. Physics from AMU, laying the foundation for his multifaceted contributions to academia, interfaith dialogue, and community service. Later, he earned a Masters in mass communication from University of Illinois, Chicago and a Ph. D. In International Communication from Temple University, Philadelphia.


  • Mr. Mohammad Shahanshah Ansari

    Mohammad Shahanshah Ansari emerges from a lineage steeped in the tradition of freedom fighters and nationalist bureaucrats hailing from District Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh. His grandfather, the late Jb. Haji Ahmed Ali Ghazipuri, stood as an ardent admirer of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, actively participated as a Freedom Fighter, and served with honor in the Azad Hind Fauj.

    He embodies profound intellect and commitment. As one of the life members of AMUAA-GC, he has played a pivotal role in formulating and executing various IT policies and frameworks. Beyond his contributions to AMUAAGC, he is deeply engaged in several other national and international organizations dedicated to uplifting the underprivileged.

    Currently, Mohammad Shahanshah serves as a Board Member at AMUAAGC, chairing IT Committee and Bylaws Committee as well. Professionally, he boasts a distinguished career as a Senior Software Engineer with over 17 years of experience. Graduating with a Master of Computer Application (MCA) from Rajiv Gandhi Technical University in 2006, he has worked with esteemed organizations both in India and abroad, including Saudi Arabian Airlines, Saudi Electricity Company, SAP Global Delivery, BHP Billiton Singapore, Cardinal Health, and more. Renowned for his expertise in SAP Data Migration, SAP Master Data Governance and Data Analytics, he holds the position of Managing Consultant at a prestigious IT firm.

    Mohammed Shahanshah's ethos mirrors the timeless wisdom of Abraham Lincoln: "I do the very best I know how - the very best I can; and I mean to keep on doing so until the end."


  • Dr. Israrul Haque Ansari

    Dr. Israrul Haque Ansari, commonly known as Israr Ansari, holds a distinguished position as a Senior Clinical Trials Scientist at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI. With a Ph.D. from AIIMS, New Delhi, India, and an MS in Clinical Research from the Ohio State University. Dr. Ansari possesses a robust academic background complemented by over 22 years of residency in the United States.

    In addition to his professional accomplishments, Dr. Ansari is deeply engaged in philanthropic endeavors. He has been actively involved in various non-profit organizations, including the AMUAA-GC, IL, where he currently serves as a board member and chairs the Education Committee. Furthermore, Dr. Ansari generously shares his expertise by mentoring scholars of the Sir Syed Global Scholarship Award (SSGSA).

    Residing with his family in Middleton, WI, Dr. Ansari finds solace and adventure in exploring the natural wonders of US National Parks during his leisure time. His multifaceted contributions to academia, community service, and mentorship exemplify his commitment to excellence and service.


  • Dr. Gulam Waris

    Dr. Waris has been a dedicated member of the AMUAAGC since 2007, contributing significantly to its mission and objectives. Throughout his tenure, he has served as a member of the Board of Directors and undertaken various volunteer assignments, showcasing his commitment to the organization's goals.

    With a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the esteemed Department of Biochemistry, J.N. Medical College, AMU, Aligarh, Dr. Waris possesses a strong academic foundation. He brings over 20 years of invaluable experience in academic research and teaching to his professional endeavors.

    In recent years, Dr. Waris has transitioned into the pharmaceutical industry, leveraging his expertise to make a difference in this field. Currently, he holds a prominent position managing and leading the Biologics group at SGS Life Sciences, based in Illinois, USA. Through his leadership and expertise, Dr. Waris continues to make significant contributions to the advancement of scientific research and development in the pharmaceutical sector.
