The Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association of greater Chicago (AMUAA-GC) organized Sir Syed Iftar/Dinner event on March 8th, 2025. This is the key event of AMUAA-GC to raise funds for Girls Education Projects. Ans Ahmed was the Convener of the event. The program started after Iftar and dinner with the recitation of Holy Quran by Hafiz Saad Jameel, Depaul student.
Dr. Zafeer Ahmad, President of AMUAA-GC gave an update about the organization and emphasized how AMUAA-GC is helping in many ways to uplift the socially, economically, and educationally deprived population of India. Education Projects update was given by Dr. Zafeer Ahmad who presented the completion of Hira Public School Boys Hostel project at a cost of $10,000.00 and Girls Hostel and Warden Residence at Hira Public School project at a cost of $51,000. Another project was completed for the renovation of Anwarul-Uloom, Bhopal, at a cost of $20,000. An ongoing project was the construction of two classrooms at Aligarh Modern School. The cost for this project was $24,000.00. The total fundraising target to complete these projects was $50,000. We collected approximately $31,000 at the end of this program, however, some people continued to donate.
The keynote Speaker, businessman Junaid Ahmed, was introduced by Ans Ahmed. Junaid Ahmed emphasized the importance of educating girls in society and their role in the overall development of a community and the nation.
Farah Laman Hawthorn Woods IL trustee also emphasized the importance of girls’ education.
The program ended with the vote of thanks from Mohammad Ahmed Ullah Siddiqui, chairperson of Board of Directors.
